PADI OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE PROGRAM:

(In our diving school it is also possible to obtain an OPEN WATER DIVER license in an SSI dive organization)

DIVING THEORY

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of a practical and theoretical part. The diving theory is transmitted in a very accessible way using multimedia tools and independent learning, which is adapted to the student’s ability to acquire knowledge, and all ambiguities are explained in details by our instructors.

The whole diving theory on the PADI Open Water Diver course includes basic diving principles, diving physics, diver physiology, as well as information on diving equipment and the underwater environment.

We will learn the diving theory during 5 theoretical blocks, which include:

  • 5 chapters in the PADI Open Water Diver diver’s manual (for self-study) that you will receive from us at the beginning of the training
  • 5 knowledge tests at the end of each chapter of the textbook
  • 5 movies showing pictures presented in particular chapters of the textbook
  • 4 quizzes checking the acquired knowledge final exam consisting of 50 questions in the form of a test

POOL CLASSES

During the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will have the first contact with the underwater environment in our training pool (by the way – the pool is located next to a beautiful view of the Teide volcano).

Pool classes will allow us to acclimatize to the new environment in a very comfortable way and learn basic diving skills, which we will then use during dives in open waters in the ocean.

All pool classes consists of 5 modules implemented during 3 training days alternating with theory and diving in the ocean.

During pool classes, we will teach you about 20 diving skills that will help you move around the underwater world safely and comfortably.

OCEAN DIVING

The most exciting part of the PADI Open Water Diver course, which everyone is looking forward to, is diving in the open ocean waters. During the course, we will perform a total of 4 training dives, during which you will use the knowledge gained during lectures and skills acquired during pool sessions.
What distinguishes the WET MONSTER Diving Center from the other diving bases in Tenerife is the fact that we are the only ones located on the shore of the Underwater Nature Reserve Montaña Amarilla, where you will take your training dives. Thanks to that, you will not only learn how to safely dive but you will also discover one of the most beautiful diving spots on the Canary Islands.

EXAM

The final step before acquiring the PADI Open Water Diver is to successfully pass the written exam in the form of a test consisting of 50 questions. At the end of the course it is practically a formality because this knowledge is repeated many times during the whole training, so our students do not have the slightest trouble with getting it.

PADI OPEN WATER DIVER
CERTIFICATE

The moment everyone waits for – obtaining the international PADI Open Water Diver diving license. Your first diving certificate is a passport to explore another world that remains closed to many people. From now on, you’ll be able to dive with your partner around the world to a depth of 18 meters. (In our diving school it is also possible to obtain an Open Water Diver license from the SSI dive organization).

PADI Open Water Diver JUNIOR

Children from 10 to 13 years of age can take part in the PADI Open Water Diver’s full diving course. The difference is only the maximum depth of the dive, which is not 18 but 12 meters. After completing the training, the children receive the PADI Open Water Diver JUNIOR diver certificate, which entitles them to dive to 12 meters deep under the supervision of a parent or instructor.
